Pop:
I have decided to base my music magazine on the Pop genre. I have chosen this genre because I listen to the music myself and therefore have more knowledge on this particular genre than any other. The target audience of Pop music is both male and females ages 16-24. As I am within this age range, understanding what the audience wants to see should be fairly easy.
Pop Music is the most listened to music genre globally, dominating the charts and the media worldwide. This global coverage will make information about the genre easily accessible, helping me to do my research.
Capital FM is the UK's Number 1 Pop Music radio station. They play the most up to date pop songs and the UK Top 40 is played every Sunday, reviewing the most popular songs of the week. Each year they hold 2 famous music events; the Jingle Bell Ball and the Summertime Ball. The hottest music stars from around the globe play at their sell-out concert every year. I looked at the artists who are lined up for this years Jingle Bell Ball in order to help me decide the artist to feature on my own front cover.
