Making the Logo

I used Photoshop in order to make my logo. 

I created the logo by first creating the text that would feature in the logo. I decided to write the masthead (Live) in a white font with a pink border. I did this because bordering text is a common feature of text in a pop music magazine and I wanted my magazine to seem as real as possible. I edited the text slightly by removing the circle above the 'i' and replacing it with a love heart. Shapes such as love hearts and stars are frequent in a pop music magazine. 

I used tools such as the Magic Wand in order to manipulate the heart. I changed the colour from black to white because this is more conventional of the genre. Bright colours such as pink, light blue and yellow are commonplace within a pop music magazine. I also made the outline of the heart more bold because this will make it stand out more on the front cover, thus catching their eye. If this were a real magazine this would prompt the audience into purchasing.
